This is my first snowy Christmastime. I'm from the deep south and it never snowed there, not really. Maybe a few flakes would fall from the sky and melt as soon as they touched the healthy green grass of our lawns, but I don't think that counts.
Snow, for us kids then, was really truly some magical phenomenon that we waited for like the arrival of a celebrity. "I hear Madonna might show up during 4th hour." "No joke, really?" "Yeah, but she's just going to walk past the window real quick and then melt, so you better keep your eyes glued to the windows all day."
