El Banquetto (not real spanish)
I'm in a pretty good mood. LSJ (little sexist jerk) apologised profusely to my husband and sent me a *card* with apologies in it. He still doesn't realize he was behaving sexist-ly, he only knows he was behaving badly. It's a start. I'm really not *mad* just enlightened by the whole thing. As I said, it was my first sucker-punch. What's really funny is that he wound up taking most of my edits to the interviewer who then accepted the edits. The edits did, after all, tighten the structure and improve the presentation of the two bigwigs. Imagine that. The person who has the degree in the thing that the other person doesn't have a degree in turned out to know that thing better. Amazing.
Today is Sara's birthday. Happy birthday girlie! You are 29. And you will be next year, and the year after that, and the year after that. From this point on it doesn't change ever again, unless you opt to turn 35, as some women do, and *then* the years stopp accruing.
The department banquet is tonight. It should be nice, except that I have been warned that LSJ plans on apologizing to me in person for the editing confrontation and frankly, I'd like for it to be over-with-already. I almost feel sorry for the fellow at this point...he's been obsessing over this for a solid week now. That's some pretty major league obsessing. Worse than I obsess, even.
