Stetson
I will not recount what has happened in great detail as it is slowly fading from memory and I don't like seeing the mental image over and over in my head. My new doggie Stetson who I loved with all my heart within an hour of knowing him, was having a really good day Tuesday until he got excited and ran into a glass door at about 20mph. He did not break the glass; I wish he had because if he had he probably would not have suffered such severe spinal injuries. As of today we still do not know if he will walk again. My heart is broken.
Tom and I have cancelled our wedding to pay for vet bills. Some would say we're crazy but I would rather spend the money on our doggie. The bills are already up around $1500 so it would be an unbearable financial burden to treat Stetson and pay for the wedding. Easy, easy choice. No wedding! If Stetson is able to stand again he will need many months of physical therapy. That is what I am praying for; otherwise, if he cannot recover use of at least three of his legs, we will have to let him go.
Deoji told me in a dream once that in death a greyhound's feet move across the earth so fast that he finally takes flight. I don't want Stetson to go yet. Please pray for my doggie.
On a lighter note, some of you know that Deoji (my other greyhound) often speaks to me in my dreams and that his voice sounds a lot like George Clooney. I didn't know Stetson long enough for him to come to me in my dreams and speak, so I don't know what his voice sounds like yet. I hope to learn! As I said, please pray for my doggie.
