Buzy bee Mom
Mom called at 9am and awoke me from a nightmare about the wedding invitations. She had booked a florist. Not yesterday, this morning. Sometime between sun-up and 9am my mom had searched her mental databanks and come up with a lady that she used to be friendly with about ten years ago who is a florist, called the lady, and booked her for October 5. Well, at least that's taken care of.
By 10am she had booked a harpist, a girl named Susan who is a daughter of my mom's good friend. Susan started playing the harp when she was about 5 (they bought her a child-sized one), and by 12 or something was performing with the city orchestra, and so on and so on. She is 17ish now and booked for my wedding.
Now my frantic mom is off visiting bakers.
Black and Whites
On a completely different note, I saw baby skunks while walking the dogs this morning. Baby skunks are small enough to fit in your hand! and completely adorable. They walk around with their tails straight up and their little pink anuses showing, just waiting to spray you, I guess.
Stetson found the skunks. He's known about them for a long time but Deoji, Tom, and I did not know what he liked so much about that overhanging tree. I'm sure he wanted to say, "It's full of skunks!" He seemed very pleased when Deoji and I realized what he was trying to show us. I yelled out for Tom to come see the skunks too, but he didn't seem as impressed or mystified as I did.
The dogs and I finished our walk and passed back by the skunk tree. I took another look and this time saw only one, nestling under a small rooftop-ish awning of sticks.
