The Quiet Blogger

Yeah, that's me. It's because lately nothing interesting at all is going on in my life with the exception of one humongously interesting thing that I don't want to talk about quite yet. It's really hard to blog when your whole life is incredibly dull aside from one major bit of information that you know you shouldn't talk about. I mean, what does one write? One writes stuff like this, which only causes readers to say "What? What's this secret thing??" But a week from now, on Friday, I'll be getting some news re: Humongous Interesting Thing and once I get that news I'll feel like it's okay to talk about it. I just don't want to talk about it yet in case something happens to mess it up.

In other news, my life is dull. My classes are going just fine aside from the fact that I'm pretty sure my students aren't learning anything. They're nice, though. I like my students.

I still hate the night class. I'm supposed to keep them Wednesdays from 5:30 to 8:15 with a 15 minute break in there. But they don't want to go on break. When I make them go on break, they come back about 45 seconds later. In actuality, I keep the class from 5:30 to about 7:15 each week. But with no break. So instead of "cheating" them out of an hour, it's really only 45 minutes. I don't feel particularly wonderful about this, but jeez, it's hard to hold class for that long and the poor students get worn out right about then anyway, they really want to leave, and it shows.

The weather is changing here. It's a beautiful day today, and has been for the past two or three days. I've been going around in flats with no socks, wearing button-down cotton shirts, and not bringing a jacket. Spring is springing here. Sorry to you guys in Utah and Oklahoma--I bet it's still snowy in Utah and blustery in OK.

I'm going to go out and plant a bunch of bulbs this weekend. It's time, and they'll grow like crazy, I bet. My hydrangeas are starting to get leaf buds, too.

I may also try to install a dishwasher this weekend, if I can figure it out. This house has never had a dishwasher, so that means I'd have to learn some plumbing and wiring before I could succesfully accomplish said task. But a dishwaser is $300-400 (at least) and stores won't install it unless there's an existing dishwasher already there. If you don't already have one, you have to call a plumber. And the plumbers around here are charging, on average, $300 to install a dishwasher. We really shouldn't spend that much money. But life without a dishwasher is getting old, so Tom and I are thinking we'll try to learn to do it ourselves!!

Wish us luck!!
