Whew!
I'm a lot better now. Body still feels pretty bad from the paxil, but the mind and speech isn't slow and weird anymore. Mind is back at 100 percent. While I was in the worst of the withdrawals from Paxil, I went hunting the internet for a support group. The only one I found is loaded with wackos who quit a few milligrams at a time over a course of years. They're terrified of suicide, I think, but they refuse to come out and say that in plain language. That makes everything else they say sound effing crazy.
For instance, they refuse to even SAY supportive things about those who quit cold turkey! They would rather a pregnant woman keep taking this crap and try to wean off of it by the time the baby is born than support her decision to quit cold turkey! In other words, they support administering this drug to unborn babies. Oh, they don't see it that way. But that IS the FACT of what it is--continuing to take the drug when pregnant IS adminstering it to an unborn baby!
They also refuse to say supportive things to those who have to quit cold turkey due to circumstance--insurance, parents' edict, etc. All they do is squawk about how you MUST re-increase your dosage and quit over a course of months! Then, if you don't relent immediately and say, "Oh, yes, I will do that" they post stories of people committing suicide. Yeah. Real helpful to a teen whose dad says, "No more paxil, son." Mm hm. Sitting around reading about suicide will surely make that kid feel better and more positive during his horrible withdrawal experience, right?
So, forget those people. They are effing crazy. Maybe they shouldn't be quitting paxil after all.
I miss Penny. God! My sweet girly wirl! And Bessie is ill now, too. We've known for a long time that she has cancer, but one of her tumors is...disgusting. She has a tumor the size of a lemon on her leg, and up until a few days ago, it was just covered with thin fur and not gross. Then, she nipped it open and performed surgery on herself. She excised several large bits of tissue before we got a hold of her and stopped her. On monday, the vet will remove as much as the tumor as he can, because we can't have her doing this to herself, obviously.
So, wish us luck over here. Life aint easy this month...

Thanks for the thoughts, Cindy!
What do I need a support group for anyway, when I've got blogfriends?

I'm so sorry to hear about your doggies, and your Paxil problems! :(
Limon's right; you ARE very strong. You have a big heart, to boot.
