Weirdos at the Restaurant
Tom and I saw some weirdos at a local Thai restaurant today. Okay, maybe I'm being harsh, but I'd like to recount the scene.

A daughter: tall, gawky, long stringy hair. About 18? Carrying three books in her hands near her waist, arms weighted by the books. Odd carriage of her body.
Her parents: regularish looking. A little down-home church-y looking, if that means anything.

They sit, and order. We realize the dad is reading a book. We think, Hm.

We are paying our bill 20 minutes or so later. Now each of them has a book. The three of them are sitting at a table, each reading a book. Not speaking to each other, which I always thought was the whole point of a restaurant (well, and the food, too). The daughter has a broad crazy smile on her face. Her book is a hardcover book and I cannot see the title. The mom has a paperback, and I get the impression by the way the title is drawn on it that it is a fantasy book. The dad is reading one of the Star Trek novels.

Like I said. Weirdos.
