Fascinating Facts and Dork Humor
Fascinating facts:
--Did you know that a laser printer and a copy machine are the same thing? It's just that laser printers can talk to computers and copiers can't. Also, the first color laser printer to go on the market was in 1995. Guess it took longer to teach the color copier to speak computer. Sheds some light on why color laser printers are still so costly.
--The 'all-in-one' printer/copier/scanner dealies (HP makes a bunch of them) are trying to decieve you. They use the word 'copier' which to us conjures up the image of xerox-quality copies like you make at the library. In fact, these machines are just a scanner connected to an inkjet printer--they scan your image and then print it. Creating a copy, yes; but not a copy in the way we generally think of copies.

Dork humor:
You can register to win a Xerox Tektronix 8200 Color Laser Printer (which is cooler than the one we have at the local Kinkos) at Xerox's site. After you fill out the form, and ONLY after, you are allowed to play their little game. Yes, Xerox has created a little game about makin' copies. You might as well register in the contest and check it out. I mean, who doesn't want a kickass laser printer?
