Real Date of Post: 2003-01-20
After an insomniac night, I'm supposed to study my gourd off today. I can't seem to get started. I can't wait until February when this test is over.

So I've been going to a shrink to get an adult diagnosis of ADD. I have a juvenile diagnosis. ADD doesn't get in my way much anymore, but I need an adult diagnosis if I'm going to convince Student Disabilities that I am so highly distractable that I need extra time on my exit exams.

So, I had to fill out a billion forms and have interviews and etc etc. I was honest on all the forms but I didn't like it. After she read them, she wanted to start interviewing me about the things written there, of course. I told her that I didn't want to get bogged down in all that shit and that I just wanted to deal with the issue at hand (ADD), which would allow me to complete my Master's so I can be a realforreal truebonafide professor, and get on with my life.

In her refusal to NOT talk about my forms, she gave me a little gift, though...I don't think the gift fits perfectly, but it's the thought that counts. The gift was a word: orthorexic. Instead of just coldly telling me that I'm anorexic, like most shrinkydinks have, she actually paid attention to what was written there and called me something different. Orthorexic. That was a nice gesture on her part. Course, since she's just a PhD student, maybe she had just read about it in class yesterday or something! Har har.

It is more accurate than the other word though. I'm not ana, by far. I'm 5'7 and 115 lbs! It's different. It's not really orthorexia either, I don't think. I exercise but I'm not obsessed like some girls. Some days I'll go 90 minutes, others NO minutes. Maybe I'll go into what the problem is another day. I'm tired of talking about it now.
