I'm back in the land of internet access, thank goodness!!
Well, I'm tired so this is just a quick note...but Tom took the job in Georgia. It's a VAPship, so that's 3 years max, but we--get this--we bought a house anyway. I KNOW!!! We BOUGHT a HOUSE!!! It was really intense. The logic went like this--we'll pay $23,000 in rent over 36 months. Or, we can pay that much toward a small house in that same amount of time. When 3 years are up, as long as we sell the house in a deal that loses less than $23,000 off the price we paid for the house, we're coming out ahead because we will have recouped some of the money that otherwise would have lined a landlord's pockets. It's really simple but kinda scary too.
Anyway, it's a great little house. Just two bedrooms, but 3 acres in the woods and a pool. I'll post more about it later.
