SARS
You know, I've tried not to give SARS a lot of thought but I can't help myself. I did see one of those dumb "How Oklahomans are dealing with SARS" news broadcasts a few weeks ago, saying that a Tulsa resident had it, but I kind of wrote that off because I figured it would have been national news if that were the case, and I didn't notice any national news reports about it.

But SARS is getting really bad. And one thing strikes me as odd, and I know it sounds a bit paranoid, but here goes: We went to war with Iraq, and in the same several days, SARS appeared. Iraqi officials are stating that lots of biological warfare agents were destroyed and dispersed, supposedly harmlessly, at that time.

What I wonder is, Where did they disperse that stuff at? The sky? Global air currents always move from west to east. Was the stuff dispersed by Iraqis traveling abroad? Or were infected biological warfare scientists traveling abroad shortly after the stuff was destroyed? I don't know. It just seems odd to me. A similar illness is now striking down Cambodians. West to East. I don't know. It just seems weird.
