This is a funny thing. Who doesn't know this?
So, I wrote to Lane furniture:
"Do you offer synthetic leather upholstery? I do not buy real leather, but like the ease of cleaning that comes with synthetic leathers."

They wrote this back to me:
"Thanks for writing to Lane Furniture. Our covermanager suggested you look at our suede collection. We have several covers that might work for you. These are 4510, 1149, 6192, 6392, 1349, and 4310. I responded. I couldn't help it. I did try to be gentle, since they are obviously morons. I mean, come on. The covering is one of the main ingredients of the sofa. Shouldn't you know something about it, if it's your job to sell them? And, did it never occur to you that the reason suede and leather both smell like leather is, um, because they both are?
"Thank you for getting back to me, but I wanted to point out that suede and leather are the same thing; one is just tanned a different way. It's still made of animal skins. Thank you for trying."
