Comment woes and Couches
You know, this comment nonsense is still a mystery to me. Why do they vanish after a certain point in time? I'll have to look into it. And, I'm on a mission, if anyone would like to help me on it (I'm looking at you, Todd. I know you're out of town but I'm looking at you anyway). I'm hunting for faux leather furniture.

In about 1997, I bought this green pleather couch from La-z-boy. At the time they called it Rhinohide, and it's a pretty darned good faux leather. Well, since then, of course, Tom and I have gone veg, so we'd prefer not to buy anymore leather than necessary (occasionally leather shoes, etc, are acceptable, although I've found that Walmart El Cheepoh shoes' synthetic leather is pretty nice and so cheap that the shoes are practically disposable). Those of you who know that my car is upholstered in leather, go ahead and laugh, because it's funny, but that'll be the last leather car I own. Anyway.

So with the move to Georgia and all, we're thinking of not taking the green rhinohide couch with us (anyone want it? It's practically free. All you gotta do is come get it and we'll talk clams--small ones). The couch is still in good shape, although it has some wear on it. It's great for pets because all you have to do is blow the hair off of it. And if someone barfs on it or wipes their crumby snouts on it (like Deoji used to do) you can just clean it off with a wet rag.

But the thing is, if we don't take it, can we replace it? I want another fake leather couch, one that's comfortable, etc. Cheap faux leather is the pits. It has to be good quality. The websites for the furniture companies are rather vague (as far as I looked, anyway. Maybe the sites are just poorly organized. Grr.) and we don't live close enough to any real furniture stores to easily cruise around and see what they've got. Well, I intend to give it another shot today, but I'm not optimistic. Sight-n-Sound (I hate that place) has 'leather match' furniture that feels like you're sitting on a big basketball. Not good.

So, any thoughts? Any takers? Chris, you want this couch? Let's interface about it AGGH! An Orbellism! I'm not as ecaffienated as her! Save me...I'm going to lunch.
