Let's try it again, shall we?

Whew! in Georgia now.
Well, here I am on my brand new, sparkling 26k dialup internet connection. It's lovely, isn't it? I plan on remedying this situation as soon as I get some money for satellite internet, or maybe, if the heavens smile on me, DSL (which *may* become available here soon).

To everyone who I did not get to see prior to leaving Oklahoma: I'm sorry. While we were here closing on the house, Stetson was pretty badly hurt and we had to rush home to get him and care for him. He tore something in his knee. We had to carry him everywhere for a few days and could not leave him unsupervised because the little ninny insisted on trying to walk even though he was in excruciating pain. He is still injured, but doing lots better. His instructions were to get plenty of bed rest for 6 weeks. Poor old guy.

Our original plan was this: 1. Pack all stuff except old matresses we planned to give away, 2. Check doggies into boarding, 3. Drive to GA, close on house, unload all stuff, 4. Come back for 2-3 days, get doggies, visit everyone, give old matresses away, leave for good. Even with Stetson's injury, that plan would have worked except for two things we did not anticipate: 1. The dogs were petrified of the house with nothing in it except matresses. Absolutely terrified. Whining; crying; darting around from room to room; never settling down; having growling, crying, doggy nightmares.I don't know what they thought was going on, but they were upset about it. 2. We were worn-out pooped. You know how you get a ways into something and all you want is for it to be freaking over? That's how we felt. So we just packed up and left, pretty much as soon as we re-arrived in OK to get the poochies.

Anyway, we're here now, and have been for about ten days, I guess. But it's been hectic. We had to build a deck (yes, we built a deck with our own four klutzy hands) to get the dogs in and out of the house. Stetson cannot navigate regular steps and never will be able to. So, we've been doing that. We also had to rip out four humongous rose vines and a 36x3 flowerbed of something spiny that I personally think made a horrible ground cover. Oh yeah, and three holly bushes. What the hell these people had with prickly, aggressive plants I have no idea.

So, I'm tired now, but I'll write more later. Missed yall!
