Beevers and Pigs
Last night I was watching the news and saw that some teenagers died in a car crash. Sad, yes--but their story brought me so many laughs I just have to share.
You see, one of the teenage friends interviewing about how she will mourn her friends was named Amber Beever. Except it was spelled properly, B-e-a-v-e... I just misspelled it so if the poor girl ever googles herself she won't find this blog entry. Yes. Amber Beever.
Do you think her parents realized that Amber is a color? Did they consciously name their baby girl "deep, golden-toned beever?" Cause if so, that rocks. Those people are hilarious. If not...well...
And, yes Chris: I imagine it's hard enough being a girl named beever without people speculating about your pubic hair color.
So this made me think: If I were the mom in the Beever family, and I had a son, what would I name him? And then I go it: River. River Beever.
Then I made Tom play the "What if this kid was in your class and you called roll on the first day" game. So Tom said, "Beever? Is there a River Beever in the room? What about an Amber Beever? Anybody seen an Amber Beever?" I about died laughing. Then I added Dusty Pig to the list. A dude I knew in high school's little brother was named Dusty Pig, except with two g's. Again, I have altered it for the sake of googling. "I'm looking for a Dusty Pig?"
I also made Tom play the "A guy shows up at the door to take our daughter on a date" game.
Boy: Hi, I'm here to take Daughter to the movies?
Tom: Oh yeah? And who might you be?
Boy: River.
Tom: River. Ah, River, what's your last name?
Boy: Beever.
Tom: River Beever. BWAH HA HA HA HA!! Daughter, there's a River Beever out here calling for you! And there's an Amber Beever out by the car! Stop talking to that Dusty Pig and get in here!
