My eyes hurt and Halloween
They do. I've been using them for too many real tasks--reading, drawing, you know. I need to have like, one week solid where I do nothing brainy with my eyes. Just use them to navigate around the world, you know?
I'm getting ready to throw a Halloween party with my friend Emily. It's for Sigma Tau Delta, and neither of us have anything to do with that club. Long story that I won't go into because I've finally come round to the opinion that gossipping about work on the internet is maybe a bit risky. But whatever, I like throwing parties, so yay!
Got a costume. I spent years, oh I don't know, ten through 28 using Halloween as an excuse to get to dress as a tramp in public. Well, I mean, I dressed like a tramp in public on plenty of other nights of the year, but I could really go all out on Halloween. Being faculty throwing a party for students means I can't be trampy. That is a downer, man. But I got a great costume--and angel costume. Aww.
Some of you will be saying, "But Tif, what about the costume trunk??" Don't you fear. We still have it. But my new pants size means that I can't comfortably squeeze into those outfits anymore. So I'm purging the costume trunk and replenishing it with newer, roomier outfits.
Tom is undecided about his costume. He's trying to decide between Lion Tamer and Devil. Devil is simple, but it goes so well with Angel, and we can shellack some horns onto his forehead and he likes that idea.
Here's a cool youtube video. It's from that Dove "Real Beauty" campaign, which I personally think is a load of malarkey, but that's a topic for another post. Well, whatever. The vid is really cool. Of course, all us photographers, makeup artists, hairstylists, and photoshoppers already knew all this...

You, an Angel? You better be the fun kind of angel -- Rowr! -- and not one of those boring kind that sits around in the clouds listening to harp music and eating bagels with cream cheese and jelly all swirled together.

Yes, what about the trunk? I love, love, love the trunk. Can I come over and sort through the trunk with you?
