Water Balloons
Sorry for the long span between posting; we went out of town for a week and then I had my boobs re-done a week ago and spent the following days not much in the mood for the computer because I was busy watching Lifetime Movies.
The surgery was a totally simple procedure and I am so much happier. Remember how I talked about how I could always feel them insided of me? With these new, small implants...I don't feel them inside of me anymore. It just feels like my normal body again. It's really a very dramatic sensory difference.
I feel SO MUCH BETTER. They don't feel heavy anymore. They don't slide around on my ribcage anymore and I really am not aware of them inside of my skin at all. When I hug my husband tight, it doesn't feel to me like I have...two water balloons...between us. I had thought that was just the way it was with breast implants. Not necessarily so. My body feels quite normal to me when we hug now.
So I'm down from a small C to a big A. Anyone who was inspecting my chest would now definitely say I'm small-busted. But ironically, I'm still huge compared to my natural chest size which was literally just my rib size with a teeny bit of swelling. And perhaps also ironically, I feel that I look so much thinner now in my shirts!
I was concerned about my skin. Imagine itty bitty titties having been a C for two years and they're now suddenly A's. I thought they might be floppy. They're not. Within 18 hours the skin had shrunk right up nicely around the new implants. It was sort of freaky. It was almost as if my skin was saying, "Whew! Thank goodness we don't have to be stretched like that anymore!"
I guess what I have to say about breast implants--at this point in time--is the following:
1. Go as small as you can while still achieving results that are aesthetically satisfactory to you. I may be unusual in feeling this way. Maybe I was an oddball in my reaction to the way they felt inside of me, sliding around on my ribcage. Maybe other women don't notice it. But what I do know--for sure--is that doctors and the majority of women on message boards, etc, will encourage you to go at least a half-cup bigger than you originally thought of. Don't do it! The bigger the implant, the heavier and weirder-feeling it is.
2. Go over the muscle. Come on. The result may be a little less natural looking, but do you really want the doctor slicing your muscle away from the rib cage? Yeccch.
3. Go saline, not silicone or gummy bear. With saline, they put the empty implant inside of you and then fill it. With silicone and gummy bear, they have to just jam in through that little cut they've made. Argh. Ouch. You've seen it on tv. Do you want someone doing that to you?
Anyway, I now feel like I have the right size implants. I haven't taken any pictures yet, but I will. So there it is! Friday I get my stitches out and get to see them without tape all over the bottoms of them. Yay!

I'm glad you got that taken care of. That's one -- er, two -- things off your chest and, more importantly, off your mind.
Congrats on the new boobs!

Hooray for boobies (of the appropriate size)! I know I'm sort of going to sound like a perv for admitting this, but I look forward to the pics. Perhaps a side-by-side comparison is in order.
Also, thanks for sharing your experience. I have mosquito-bite boobs, which sound similar to the way yours used to be. I've thought about getting breast implants for awhile, but I think I'm too chicken (and broke, among other factors) to really ever go through with it. But I feel better equipped to make a decision after hearing an alternate (ie., not the standard) viewpoint on the subject.

Yay, for the new boobs! I like the idea of implants, but here's what's stopping me: showing my naked boobs to a doctor wielding a Sharpie.

I'm glad you like them better. But I am jealous because I want a boob job too.
