Classes Start...
...today. I guess I'm ready. I'm not looking forward to this semester; my courseload has changed. At my rank, we're supposed to teach 4 classes and work 3 hours in the writing center. I've been a special hire teaching 3 classes with no writing center. But we have a new Dean and my Chair had to take away the goodies. Now I'm teaching 4 classes with writing center like all the others at my rank. I am not the only one to lose goodies, obviously, but knowing that doesn't make me feel any better. I don't want to do lots of work! And now I have to! Suckville.
Eh, whatever. I've got the courses streamlined down into almost no work; I shouldn't complain.
My classes actually start tomorrow, so today I'm going to plan my outfits for the week! Fun fun.
AND (drum roll) later tonight, we'll take some pictures of my expanding body (not crotch) and post em to the site!

A 4/4 load plus writing center is hard. I was insulted that I had to be in the WC because I worked alongside students (who were hired if they had a B or better in comp). I just managed to be unapproachable enough that students were scared of me and they always signed up for student tutors. (Use words like "essayistic" and "ascetic" and "perspicuous" and "perseverate" when giving advice. NOBODY will come back to you.) Or don't wear deoderant.

Um, I for one, will pass on the expanding crotch, but a belly watch would be fun.
The 4/4 can be a bitch especially if it's split prep (3 or 4 different classes).

Yes, 4/4 is murder. I've had to learn to assign less writing, which shortchanges the students but saves my grading sanity.
