15,002 and Tears over Pedagogy

Yep, I made it to 15K this weekend.

And today, I had a really awkward 'fight' with a co-worker. I had no idea we were 'fighting' until she began to cry. Can you believe that? I mean, I've made people cry before, yeah. Sure I have. But never unintentionally! Boy did I feel like a meanie. But I think something else must be going on with her. I mean, who bursts into tears when they're talking about pedagogy? I mean, WHO DOES THAT?? Shelley? Limon? The rest of you? Cried because someone's pedagogical stance differs from yours lately?

No, but I've recently cried like three different times over various scenes in Robots. ROBOTS! And I usually cry at the end of the movie Elf because there's no Christmas spirit. Admittedly, I'm way more emotional and empathic than most people, but I find I can cry at the drop of a hat, over the silliest things, when it's that time of the month.

Maybe your co-worker recently went on or off birth control. I notice that can really screw with your emotions.

I have been known to cry at Eastenders! (Horribly cheesy soap opera about Londoners from the East End)

By the way I have changed my blog address from mollymoocow to mollyocean (long story) x

Yeah, maybe she's got other stuff going on. I have never cried about teaching stuff. Well, about evals and such, but not differences in pedagogical styles.

First, I would never, ever cry in front of anyone (outside of my spouse); I would be mortified if anyone ever saw me cry. Second, I would never cry about pedagogical differences, but I would totally cry about evaluations. So, in sum, I think your co-worker has some other issues going on. I think she needs an e-card. (P.S. Did your stances differ considerably? Like, were you advocating corporal punishment?)

I cried once when the playground bully ripped my favorite shirt on the playground. In a fit of rage I then pummelled him. Be glad this girl did not do that. It was the last fight I ever got in by the way.
