Still 15,002 and an Update on The Crier

The Crier, turns out, thought that she and I were like, really close friends. So when the pedagogy talk went sour, she thought I was tearing her a new one, basically. I thought The Crier and I were basically strangers, and a convo about pedagogy would be, like, nothing either of us would think twice about later as we walked to our cars. So there was the problem. For her it was personal...for me? Eh, not so much.

Nevertheless, I am SO GLAD that, like Brian said, she did not begin to cry and then leap over her desk and beat the crap out of me. Whew! That would have been fun to discuss with the Department Chair and the Police.

In other news, I have not written any words of my Nanowrimo book for a few days. Not that I'm not interested, but M-Th I work, you see. I work pretty hard (despite outward appearances) to get most all my work done during those days. So that leaves F-Sn to play and write for fun. But the thing is, I'm writing at too slow a pace to complete Nanowrimo by Nov 31. I should be at about 28,000 words right now, and I'm far short of that.

I'm not going to stop writing, though. I just think it may take me till Christmas to finish. And Tom is so sweet. Now and then he says, "Let me read what you've got!" and then tells me how wonderful it is and that we'll work on it when it's done and get it published. I know he's probably full of it, but all the pep talk makes me feel good.

I can't wait to read what you've written (once you get finished). You are going to share it with the rest of us, right? I mean, you can't just update us on the process and then not let us see the final result!
